Swedish animals in the worldThe animal keeping in Sweden is quite possibly the world's best. We have laws and rights for animals that in some cases are totally unique. Our view of our pets is also rare; 97.9 percent of the Swedish pet owners consider their animals family members. That is one reason as to why there are no ownerless dogs in Sweden and the number of ownerless cats is relatively low.
Manimalis sees the conference in 2010 as an opportunity to highlight pets contribution to society in an international forum. We believe that responsible pet ownership, that animals are healthy, is a must, if the animals are to be used for promoting human health and society. One of the goals for the conference is to bring more focus on the importance of the horse. Therefore, during the conference several reports from the field of EAT (Equine Assisted Therapy) will be presented. This is especially exciting for us since the Scandinavian countries were forerunners in this area already in the 1950s. |
