Camilla Gustafsson. Studying to become a veterinarian at the University of Uppsala.

- I started in medical school, but I have to admit that it has always been the animals that have interested me the most so I'm glad that I changed my mind. During my studies I've developed a huge interest in public health, food hygiene and infectuos disease control.

- I've chosen to be an ambassador for the IAHAIO-conference because I believe that the animals may have a much bigger part in the society than they have today. Science within day care, rehabilitation and social economy put focus on the importance of pets.

Christina-brannstrom

Christina Brännström. Work as a nurse at the same time  as she writes her bachelor essay "The importance of the assistant dog to persons with dementia" at the department of public health and care science at the University of Uppsala.

- Animals have never been allowed at my workplaces, but as a nurse I have taken care of persons to whom dogs and cats have played a big role in their lives.

 - I can see the important influence that pets have on people with dementias health. You can see that they get really happy when dogs come visting them. I see daily how these people carry and speak to thier soft toy animal, a  part of their well-being.

Christina and her family have three cats and an aquarium, and the pets play a big part on her familys happiness.

Mia Tjernström. Studying to become a veterinarian at the University of Uppsala.

- I'm almost embarrassed when I, in my early teens, said to my best friend that I would be as sad if I lost my cat as if I would lose her. Maybe a bit harshly said, but at the moment my cat meant the world to me and she couldn't understand that. It would have been a natural choice to later on study to become a veterinarian but instead I chose web design. However, after a few years as a web designer I felt that something was missing, so I strted at the veterinary school.

- I've chosen to be an ambassador for the IAHAIO-conference since I believe that the interaction between animals and people needs more attention. I think it's important that the aspects, both positive and negative, are being highlighted and that we figure out in which situations animlas can help us.
