May I pay at the entrance or must I pay in advance?
No, you have to register and pay in advance.

May I bring my assistance dog?
Yes, by Swedish law you always have the right to bring assistance dogs.

How do I register for less than four days?

Do you have special deals with certain hotels, and if so, how do I make my reservation?
The conference hotel Wallin is a four star hotel, that is part of the international hotel chain Best Western. The hotel especially welcomes any delegates travelling with their assistance dogs.

As a second conference hotel, we recommend the brand new Clarion Hotel Sign. The hotel is designed in close cooperation with the Scandinavian designers Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto and Bruno Mathsson, to create a splendid Nordic touch. www.clarionstockholm.se

Stockholm further offers a wide variety of hotels and youth hostels. There are over 5000 hotel rooms within a 10-minute walk from the Central Station.

Which airlines offer flights to Sweden?
Arlanda airport is a large international airport, most major airlines offer connections to Arlanda.

How do I get to town from the airport?
Several options exist from the airport, among others taxis, Taxi Stockholm, TaxiKurir (a fixed fare is available), a coach service, Flygbussarna and a direct express train service, Arlanda Express .

Is the convention centre accessible to disabled people?
The venue is partially enabled for disabled access, although certain areas may offer different degrees of compliance. For further information

Yes, a 50 percent discount is available to students.

Journalists

Will there be a specific area at the convention centre for journalists?
Yes, there will be a specific area where you will meet plenary speekers, participate in press meetings and get more information about the Conference and Manimalis.

Will there be any time for sight-seeing?
Yes, and Stockholm Visitors Board offers an exclusive sight-seeing around Stockholm exclusively for journalists.

Which Journalists will participate?
Journalists from daily press, trade press and magazines, business press and radio and TV are invited.

Tourist attractions in Stockholm

What's the weather like in Sweden?
The temperatures during summer, when IAHIO 2010 will take place, are at a very pleasant level between 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. Hence, you will probably see a lot of people in swimsuits whereas the probability of a polar bear encounter is minimal.

While in Stockholm, what are the most important sights to see?
Stockholm offers a wide variety of sightseeing activities such as the Royal Castle, the Old Town and the Wasa museum. These are popular tourist attractions where you can really feel the wings of history. Is Stockholm a safe city?
Stockholm is a safe city. People can safely walk around in the city without really running any risk. Of course, being a relatively big city and the nation's capital there are some problems with criminal elements but these problems are no bigger than in any other city of equal size and population.

What is the availability of lunch restaurants in the vicinity of the convention centre?
In close proximity to the convention facilities, which are located in the middle of the city center, there are a large number of lunch- and fast food restaurants. They offer everything from Swedish specialties like meatballs with mashed potatoes to ethnic food and hamburgers. Vegetarian food is easy to find since most, if not all, restaurants have a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. Prices for a lunch vary between 35 SEK for cheap fast food to 150 SEK for lunch at one of the fancier places.

What is the best way to get around in Stockholm?
The public transportation system with the metro, buses and train is a very good way to get from A to B in Stockholm. Since distances are not very great in the city there are also the options of walking or riding a bike which are nice ways of enjoying the beauty and cleanliness of Stockholm. There are of course taxis available around the clock as well.
